How to Create an Organization
Section titled “How to Create an Organization”Organizations are the primary workspace in LogCentral. They contain your locations, users, and all log data. You need at least one organization to start using LogCentral.
What is an Organization?
Section titled “What is an Organization?”An organization in LogCentral represents:
- A company, team, or client workspace
- A container for multiple locations (log sources)
- A boundary for user access and permissions
- A billing unit for your subscription
Organization Hierarchy

Section titled “Creating Your First Organization”Step 1: Access the Organization Creation Page
Section titled “Step 1: Access the Organization Creation Page”After logging in, if you don’t have any organizations:
- You’ll see a prompt to create your first organization
- Or navigate to the dashboard and click Create Organization
Step 2: Enter Organization Details
Section titled “Step 2: Enter Organization Details”Required Information:

Optional Settings:
- Description or notes
- Timezone preference
- Default alert settings
Step 3: Confirm Creation
Section titled “Step 3: Confirm Creation”Click Create Organization to finalize. You’ll be redirected to your new organization’s dashboard.
Organization Naming Best Practices
Section titled “Organization Naming Best Practices”For Single Companies
Section titled “For Single Companies”Use your company name:
- “Acme Corporation”
- “TechStartup Inc”
For MSPs Managing Clients
Section titled “For MSPs Managing Clients”Include client identifier:
- “Client: ABC Company”
- “[ABC] ABC Company”
- “MSP - ABC Corp”
For Multiple Environments
Section titled “For Multiple Environments”Separate by environment if needed:
- “Acme - Production”
- “Acme - Development”
After Creating an Organization
Section titled “After Creating an Organization”Your next steps:
- Create a location - Define where logs come from
- Invite team members - Add users to your organization
- Set up integrations - Connect to Meraki or other services
Multiple Organizations
Section titled “Multiple Organizations”You can create and belong to multiple organizations:
- MSPs: One organization per client
- Large companies: Separate organizations by department or region
- Testing: Separate production from development
To switch between organizations, use the organization selector in the top navigation.

Section titled “Organization Limits”Depending on your plan:

Deleting an Organization
Section titled “Deleting an Organization”Organizations can be deleted, but this is permanent and irreversible:
- All locations within will be deleted
- All log data will be permanently removed
- All user associations will be removed

Section titled “Permissions”Organization access is role-based:

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Can’t create organization?
Section titled “Can’t create organization?”- Verify your email is confirmed
- Check if you’ve hit your plan’s organization limit
- Ensure your subscription is active
Organization not appearing?
Section titled “Organization not appearing?”- Refresh the page
- Check the organization selector dropdown
- Verify you have access (check with the organization owner)
