Creating a location in LogCentral is very easy and takes less than 1 minute!
Requirements
A LogCentral organization with an active subscription or trial
A list of the public IP(s) that are going to send syslogs to LogCentral
Add your first location
Select the organization (1) in which you want to create a location and go to the "Locations" (2) Menu, then click "Add your first location" if it is the first location you're creating :
Then a window opens for you to type the new location name:
Pick a name that best represents your location (for example Offices Paris) and click Create.
Provisioning of the location
The location will be provisioned on our servers. This means we configure our infrastructure to be able to receive what you will send us.
In a matter of seconds, you'll have access to the IPv4 and IPv6 port to which you can send your syslogs :
Adding public IP addresses and enabling your location
By default, a location is disabled because you need to add your public IPs, scroll to the appropriate section to add them:
Once you've added at least one of your public IPs, you can then enable a location it can start receiving logs.
