Reset Password

The Reset Password feature allows you to create a new password for your LogCentral account after requesting a password reset link. This is typically used when you’ve forgotten your password or need to update it for security reasons.

You’ll reach the Reset Password page by following the password reset workflow:

  1. Click “Forgot Password?” on the login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Check your inbox for the reset link
  4. Click the link in the email
  5. You’ll be directed to the Reset Password page

The Reset Password page is located at /reset-password and can only be accessed through a valid reset link sent to your email.

Once you’re on the Reset Password page, you’ll see two form fields:

  • New Password - Enter your desired new password
  • Confirm Password - Re-enter the same password to confirm

After filling in both fields, click the “Reset Password” button to update your password.

Your new password must meet these security requirements:

  • At least 8 characters long
  • Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Include numbers
  • Special characters are recommended
  • Both password fields must match exactly

“Link expired”
Reset links are valid for 1 hour for security purposes. If your link has expired, return to the login page and request a new reset link.

“Passwords don’t match”
Make sure you’ve entered the exact same password in both the New Password and Confirm Password fields. Check for typos or extra spaces.

“Link already used”
Each reset link can only be used once. If you’ve already used the link, request a new one from the login page if you need to reset your password again.

“Session invalid”
This usually means the reset link wasn’t properly recognized. Click the reset link from your email again, or request a fresh reset link.

For your protection, password reset links automatically expire after 1 hour. If you don’t complete the password reset within this timeframe, you’ll need to request a new link from the login page.

Once you’ve successfully reset your password, you can return to the login page and sign in using your email address and new password. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you’ll be prompted to enter your authenticator code after entering your password.
