Overview
Unlinking a Cisco Meraki network from a LogCentral location disconnects the automatic log flow between your Meraki network and that specific location.
This is useful when you need to reorganize your network monitoring setup, troubleshoot integration issues, or temporarily stop log ingestion from a particular network.
Important: Unlinking a network does not delete your existing logs or remove the Meraki integration from your organization entirely. It simply disconnects one specific network from one location.
What You Need
To unlink a Meraki network from a location, you need:
Access to the LogCentral location where the network is currently linked
Appropriate permissions within your organization
The location must have an active Meraki network connection
How to Access the Unlink Feature
Navigate to the Meraki integration page for your specific location:
Route: /organizations/:orgId/locations/:locationId/meraki-integration
You can typically reach this page from your Location Details view by accessing the Meraki integration settings.
What Happens When You Unlink
Understanding the effects of unlinking helps you make informed decisions:
Log Ingestion
Stops immediately: New logs from the Meraki network will no longer flow to this LogCentral location
Existing logs preserved: All historical logs already in LogCentral remain intact and searchable
No data loss: Unlinking does not delete any previously collected log data
Integration Status
The location will no longer be associated with that specific Meraki network
The Meraki integration at the organization level remains active (if you have other networks linked)
You can re-link the same network to this location or a different location later
Meraki Dashboard
Your Cisco Meraki dashboard settings are not affected
The network continues operating normally in Meraki
Syslog servers can be deprovisionned from your Meraki networks
Unlinking vs. Other Actions
It's important to understand the difference between several related actions:
Unlinking a Network from a Location:
- Disconnects one specific network from one location
- Keeps the organization-level Meraki integration active
- Preserves all existing log data
- Can be reversed by re-linking
Disconnecting Meraki Integration (Organization Level):
- Available at /organizations/:orgId/integrations
- Removes Meraki integration for the entire organization
- Affects all locations with linked networks
- Requires re-authorization to reconnect
Deleting a Location:
- Removes the location entirely from LogCentral
- Deletes all associated data
- Cannot be easily reversed
Re-linking a Network
If you need to reconnect a Meraki network to a location after unlinking:
Return to the Meraki integration page for that location
Select your Meraki organization from the available options
Choose the network you want to link
Confirm the connection
Logs will begin flowing automatically once linked
The re-linking process is straightforward and doesn't require re-authorizing your Meraki account (as long as the organization-level integration remains active).
Common Reasons for Unlinking
Users typically unlink Meraki networks for these reasons:
Reorganization: Moving network monitoring to a different location in LogCentral
Troubleshooting: Testing whether re-linking resolves log ingestion issues
Temporary pause: Stopping log collection during maintenance or testing periods
Network changes: The physical network has been decommissioned or replaced
Cost management: Reducing log volume for billing purposes
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while unlinking:
Unlink Option Not Available:
- Verify you have the necessary permissions for this location
- Ensure the network is actually linked (check integration status)
- Confirm you're accessing the correct location
Changes Not Taking Effect:
- Allow a few minutes for the unlink to process completely
- Refresh the page to see updated status
- Check that you're viewing the correct location details
Need to Reconnect:
- Ensure the organization-level Meraki integration is still active
- Visit /organizations/:orgId/integrations to verify connection status
- If the integration was disconnected, you'll need to reconnect at the organization level first

Remember: Unlinking is reversible and doesn't delete your data. You can always re-link the network later if needed.
