Meraki Import Page

Cisco Meraki network import wizard - bulk import and organize Meraki networks

Updated this week

Meraki Import Page

Overview

The Meraki Import Page is a specialized feature in LogCentral that helps you import and organize your Cisco Meraki networks. This wizard-style interface streamlines the process of bringing your Meraki network infrastructure into LogCentral for centralized management.

What is the Meraki Import Page?

The Meraki Import Page provides a dedicated workspace for importing Meraki networks into your LogCentral organization. This feature is designed to help you quickly onboard your existing Meraki infrastructure, making it easier to manage multiple networks from a single location.

Accessing the Meraki Import Page

To access the Meraki Import feature:

  1. Navigate to your organization in LogCentral

  2. Access the Meraki Import page through your locations menu

Note: You'll need appropriate permissions within your organization to access this feature.

Key Features

Network Import Functionality

The Meraki Import Page allows you to:

  • Bulk Import Networks: Import multiple Meraki networks at once rather than adding them individually

  • Organization Management: Connect and organize networks from your Meraki organizations

  • Product Type Support: Work with various Meraki product types including wireless, switching, and security appliances

The import process uses OAuth authentication to securely connect to your Meraki account. LogCentral can refresh OAuth tokens as needed to maintain the connection to your Meraki infrastructure.

Common Use Cases

Initial Setup

When first setting up LogCentral, use the Meraki Import Page to:

  • Bring in your existing Meraki network infrastructure

  • Organize networks by location or function

  • Establish the foundation for centralized network management

Adding New Networks

As your organization grows, return to the import page to:

  • Add newly deployed Meraki networks

  • Update your network inventory

  • Maintain synchronization between Meraki and LogCentral

Organization Consolidation

At this time it is not possible to connect multiple Meraki organizations to one LogCentral organization.

Understanding Import Results

After running an import, you'll see information about:

  • Successfully imported networks: Networks that were added to your organization

  • Errors: Any networks that couldn't be imported and why

  • Skipped organizations: Meraki organizations that weren't processed

Subscription Management

The import process respects your LogCentral subscription limits, including:

  • Network capacity

  • Organization limits

Network Organization

Once imported, your Meraki networks become part of your LogCentral organization structure. You can view and manage them through the main dashboard and locations pages.

Tips for Success

  • Check Your Permissions: Ensure you have the necessary access rights in both Meraki and LogCentral

  • Review Before Importing: Understand which networks you want to import before starting the process

  • Monitor Import Status: Pay attention to any error messages or skipped items during the import

  • Keep Tokens Fresh: The system will handle OAuth token refreshes, but be aware that authentication is required

Need Help?

If you encounter issues during the import process:

  • Verify your Meraki account credentials are current

  • Check that you have appropriate permissions in your LogCentral organization

  • Review any error messages for specific guidance

  • Contact your organization administrator if you need additional access
